KMMP SOLO AND ENSEMBLE RECAP!! KM Music Parents extends a hearty "Thank you!" to all who volunteered and donated items to Solo & Ensemble this past weekend. The event was a huge success and wouldn't happen without the generous support of the KM community. We'd also like to send a "shout out" to the music educators who helped everything run smoothly and prepared the students for their performances. We had over 350 MS and HS performances and 58 individuals and groups who qualified to participate at the State Solo & Ensemble event in April.
KMMS STUDENTS HOLD CONCERT FOR THREE PILLARS RESIDENTS!!! Ms. Webers orchestra students played a variety of pieces for a captive audience and everyone's day seemed to be made a little brighter by the performance. Thank you to all who attended and participated.
ROBOTICS TEAM HEADED TO STATE SATURDAY AND VISIT FROM LT. GOVERNOR!!!! The State competition will be held at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) on Saturday March 2, 2024 from 7am to about 5:30pm at MSOE's Kern Center 1245 N Broadway, Milwaukee. Lt. Governor Sara Rodriguez stopped by to visit with team Laser Tech at KMHS. The team shared a demonstration of their robot and talked about the objectives of this year's game. They also discussed the various roles team members played in the project. Ms. Rodriguez shared her background with the students, asked about their future plans, and encouraged them to keep working hard to achieve their goals. The event starts at 7am and goes till around 5:30pm at MSOE's Kern Center 1245 N Broadway, Milwaukee. We would love to see you all there to support our KM teams.

Paola, 17, from France, is coming to KMHS in the fall and needs a host family. She loves skiing, and tennis and is good with pets. She will pay all expenses, and has medical insurance. Paola wants to know our culture and will participate in school and family activities. She speaks English and wants to practice by living among Americans. KMBC ANNUAL SERVICE PROJECT!!! For the Kettle Moraine Girls Basketball Club (KMGBC) 8th Grade Community Project this year, students raised funds to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. The NICU plays a vital role in caring for babies born prematurely. Both 8th grade teams worked together to create promotional materials and collect donations at our 29th annual Sweetheart Tourney, collecting a total of $1,530 which will be given to the Waukesha Memorial NICU to purchase holiday clothing for preemie family photos!

KM SHOWCASE DRAWS LARGE CROWD!! We were thrilled when more than 100 families took time to attend the KM Showcase this year. We will continue to learn from the experience and expand this annual event! Thank you to the presenters for providing over 50 exhibits from all of our KM schools, clubs, teams, and activities. The demonstrations from computer science, Makerspace, robotics, and digital design were really engaging, and the art gallery of student work was impressive. We also want to thank our community partners: Avid Jewelry, Chick-fil-A, Culver's, Dockhounds, Mama Ds, MDs, and Pizza Guy for the generous contributions to our gift bags and prize drawing. Winners were drawn and notified yesterday and we have some very happy recipients!
LAX BLAST FUNDRAISER MARCH 16!!!!!! KM Lacrosse is holding their annual Lax Blast Fundraiser on March 16th. Join the fun, meet other club parents and friends and build a strong support structure and sense of family around our players so we can continue to benefit the boys and girls of KM Lacrosse. It benefits boys and girls lacrosse players from youth through high school. Last year was a record year, allowing us to fund multiple items from new uniforms and player packs for youth players to high school girls uniforms and gloves for high school boys. We were also able to provide alternate helmets for varsity. In addition, funds raised go toward maintenance, goals, balls and other equipment.

KMMS BAND CONCERTS!!! On February 12th and 13th the KMMS Band Program held their annual Pops Concerts featuring the 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands. We are proud of the amazing growth of these musicians since the start of the school year and how much they have learned!

FEBRUARY 15TH IS NATIONAL SRO DAY!!!! Our student resource officers, Officer Sonenberg and Officer Catania, are a huge part of our KM Family. They are also an instrumental force in maintaining school safety, culture and structure. Both have been involved in important initiatives to protect students from online predators, bullying, and harmful substances. We are so grateful for their presence in our schools! Please give them a pat on the back Thursday!!
FTC LASER ROBOTICS SCORES STATE RECORD AND QUALIFIES FOR STATE!! Congratulations to our Kettle Moraine FTC robotics teams, Laser Bots and Laser Tech, which had an excellent qualification tournament last weekend. For the first time in 3 years, the two teams were paired up as an alliance which resulted in scoring the Wisconsin state record. The two teams earned the right to pair up once again in the finals and placed 1st at the competition in dominating fashion. Both teams have now qualified for the Wisconsin State Tournament at MSOE on March 2nd. Additionally, the following awards were earned: Laser Bots: Winning Alliance Captain, 1st place Control Award, 2nd place Think Award. Laser Tech: 1st place Innovate Award, Winning Alliance 1st Pick, 2nd place Design Award, 3rd place Inspire Award
SAVE THE DATE FOR THE 3rd ANNUAL SHOOT FOR A CURE!!! Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 1:00 – 2:30pm at Kettle Moraine High School / West Gym. Led by Kettle Moraine Varsity Coach Brian Richert, the KM Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball teams will host a skills and drills clinic for 3-8th grade boys and girls. This event will include fun games and drills for all-level players. This is a fundraiser to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), an organization devoted to funding critical research to treat and cure blood cancers. The KM Varsity teams are doing their part to support this cause – and all proceeds of this event will go directly to LLS Wisconsin. KMMS STUDENTS AWARDED FOR CREATIVITY IN ART!!!! Four KM Middle School students have had their artwork selected for the 2024 Scholastic Art Awards Wisconsin competition and will have their artwork displayed at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Syd K. and Rachael M. each earned Gold Key Awards and Leo D. and Braden S. each earned Silver Key Awards. Their artwork will be on display February 24 through April 7 and they will receive their awards at a ceremony on March 2. The Scholastic Art Competition showcases the extraordinary talents of teens from across the state. It is a great achievement to be included in this exhibition.
