KM LEADERSHIP CLASS SHARES THEIR STORY!!! Each year, Mr. Bestor's leadership students write and design their own children's books and read them to KM Explore students. It is a wonderful mentorship opportunity and our high school students really benefit from the input of younger learners on their work.
KM ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND KMHS STUDENT GOVERNMENT LAUNCH HUGE GIFT COLLECTION FOR PARTNER SCHOOL IMPACTED BY HURRICANES!!! All of our KM elementary schools and our high school student government will be participating in a Friendsgiving collection that will conclude on November 26th. Donated or purchased items will be collected into shoe boxes and organized by age and gender. These "shoe boxes for Santa" will then be personally delivered by a friend of Mrs. Cavanaugh to students at WD Williams Elementary School in Swannanoa North Carolina. These students have been terribly impacted by hurricanes, tornados, and flooding. Most were left with nothing. Our goal is to gather up much-needed clothing items like hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, socks, and also a few fun things like toys, art supplies, or puzzles. These items will be collected and wrapped in shoe box care packages. The school has 450 students at 4 elementary schools. If we are able to build more than 450 boxes, we will share our extras with other schools in the area. All items must be collected by November 26th, as they will be driven down to North Carolina and delivered by December 4th. We are also going to need wrapping paper, shoe boxes, and labels for packaging our gifts. Watch the video for more information, or drop off your donations at any KM elementary school!

SIGN YOUR ELEMENTARY OR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT UP FOR LYBA BASKETBALL!!! The season begins in December and concludes in February. Grades 3-8 will practice one night per week with Saturday morning games and will be followed by a season ending tournament. Grades 1-2 will meet on Saturday mornings for one hour with practice and game play. Our emphasis will be on knowledge and execution of basketball skills, rules, sportsmanship, fair play and attitude. WALES AND EXPLORE CELEBRATE SUCCESSFUL COLOR RUN!!! Students raised such a significant amount of money through this year's Color Run, that the campus celebrated with an inflatable costume relay race featuring teachers. WALES/EXPLORE COLOR RUN – FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 AT 5:00PM!!! We encourage all students (not just Wales/Explore) to gather pledges from friends and family online or through the pledge form. The student with the highest amount of pledges wins a free bounce house rental from Bounce Life! Top fundraising class at Wales and Explore will get a pizza party. Bring pledge sheets and registrations to the Wales office with checks made out to Wales PTO or register online. Students should wear a white t-shirt and bring your colorful accessories. TRY VOLLEYBALL FOR FREE YOUTH CLINIC!!! We are offering a free camp for KM Youth with TryVolleyball. This Try VB for Free event, partnered with Kettle Moraine High School, is designed to provide kids grades 1st - 8th the opportunity to try volleyball in a FUN, safe environment with trained coaching staff. No experience necessary! There will be plenty of assistance on hand to be sure your child has the best first volleyball experience and answer any questions you might have. What you need: comfortable clothes and playing shoes (like what you'd wear to gym class), sater bottle, and a desire to have fun! The clinic will be Sunday, September 22nd 8:30am - 9:00am with clinic play time from 9:00am - 10:30am at Kettle Moraine High School. We also need district residents to enroll in 4K so we can meet your choice of schools and accommodate wrap care requests. There is no need to enroll in KM 5K if your child was in KM 4K this year. WALES TEACHER EARNS DOCTORATE!! Sarah St. Martin just successfully defended her dissertation from UW-Milwaukee to earn her PhD. The district administration team, along with Wales Principal Mrs. Balzer, surprised her today in her classroom to celebrate this monumental honor. Congratulations Mrs. St. Martin!!

Science Day 2024 at Wales and Explore is proving to be one for the record books! Excitement is in the air and SCIENCE is word of the day!
SIGN UP NOW FOR SUMMER ACADEMY!! Our summer programming is a great way to keep students busy, learning, and growing all year.
